Transformational Dimensions
The four dimensions of transformational leadership are:
- · Inspirational motivation
- · Charisma or an idealized influence
- · Individual consideration
- · An intellectual stimulation
Inspirational motivation is the degree to which a leader articulates the vision that is appealing and inspirational to employees.
The idealized influence is the ability of the leader to elicit pride, faith and respect.
Individual consideration refers to paying attention to each employee, or dealing with his/her specific problems.
The intellectual stimulation is the behaviour of the leaders who develop the employees’ ability and inclination to think about problems in a new way.
Transformational leaders should provide employees with a clear picture or vision of the future inspire them and provide them with the necessary support and help in their facing the challenges of change, thereby increasing employees’ commitment to execute tasks more efficiently
